What kinds of brands sponsor podcasts

Health and telehealth

BetterHelp, Hims, Zocdoc, AG1, Huel, Nutrafol and Rula. Long conversations build trust, and these brands sell things people want to hear a trusted voice vouch for. They also have clear subscription prices, which makes a promo code easy to track.

Money: finance apps, insurance, betting and prediction markets

Cash App, Rocket Money, Ethos, PrizePicks, DraftKings and Kalshi. Sports and comedy shows carry most of the betting reads. Personal finance shows carry the apps and insurance. If you run a finance show, expect these brands to be the first in your inbox.

Direct-to-consumer products

Quince, Factor, Helix, Ridge, Raycon, Fabletics, HexClad and Wayfair. These are the classic podcast advertisers: one product, one code, measured on sales. They buy across almost every genre, which is why Quince alone appeared on 42 shows.

Business software

Shopify, Quo, Squarespace, Square and DeleteMe. Shopify shows up everywhere from comedy to self-improvement shows, because almost any audience includes people who want to start selling something.

What these reads look like

Five reads from the dataset, each linked to the second it starts. We checked every one against the episode transcript.

Eight Sleep on The Diary Of A CEO

Watch at 34:40. A mid-roll that opens with the host’s own story about sleeping at a different temperature than his partner. One of three sponsors in a 1 hour 48 minute episode with more than 5.6 million views.

Kikoff on Caleb Hammer

Watch at 48:45. A credit-builder read placed right after viewers have watched a guest struggle with credit, leading with a five-dollar monthly price.

PayPal on Good Hang with Amy Poehler

Watch at 1:12. A presenting sponsorship: “presented by PayPal” at the top of the episode, then a short holiday-shopping read. Built for recall rather than a promo code.

Card Kingdom on The Command Zone

Watch at 7:20. An endemic sponsor on a niche show: a Magic: The Gathering card retailer on a Magic podcast, tied to the decks discussed in the episode.

Jane Street on Dwarkesh Patel

Watch at 21:35. Not every podcast sponsor sells a product. This trading firm describes its intern research projects to recruit engineers from the show’s audience.

How to find sponsors for your podcast

  1. Start with brands already buying shows like yours. A brand that sponsored three podcasts in your genre this month has a budget and a reason to say yes.
  2. Look at who sponsors your closest peers. The same brands repeat across similar shows, as the table above shows.
  3. Pitch with your own numbers. Average views per episode, audience country and age, and one past read with results if you have one.
  4. Offer the slot they want. Most brands buy mid-roll. Presenting sponsorships in the intro are a premium you can price higher.

How to sponsor a podcast

  1. Find shows whose sponsors look like you. If a show already runs your competitors, its audience buys your category.
  2. Watch past reads before you pitch. Check placement, length and how many other sponsors share the episode.
  3. Test across several shows. Run unique codes per show and judge each over three or more episodes.
  4. Give the host room. The reads that sound best start from something the host actually experienced.

Sponsorship.so tracks sponsor reads across YouTube, including video podcasts. Search any brand to see every show it has sponsored and jump to the exact second of each read, or start from a show and see who sponsors it. Browse top sponsors by niche.
